Hi there! I’m Whitney
I’ve been a registered dietitian since 2019 where I started working with dialysis patients. It didn’t take long to discover the lack of nutrition education available for those in the early stages of kidney disease—a crucial aspect that could significantly impact kidney function preservation and delay the need for dialysis.
The idea of establishing a practice tailored to individuals with CKD began to take root. Upon relocating to the Omaha area in 2022 and establishing strong relationships with patients and healthcare providers, the potential for impactful nutrition services in this region became apparent. Thus, Midwest Nutrition was born!
Over the past five years, I have dedicated myself to becoming proficient in renal nutrition, gaining experience with both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Extensive coursework and research on early CKD stages have further honed my expertise. Additionally, I have supported numerous patients managing conditions like type 2 diabetes and have personally navigated life with type 1 diabetes for two decades. With a deep well of knowledge and firsthand experience, I feel well-equipped to assist those struggling with their nutritional needs in these specialized areas.
My approach is simple
I believe my role as a nutrition expert is to give you the information and tools to make smart choices for your unique health goals. This includes reviewing your medical history, dietary needs, lifestyle, available resources and other factors to create a personalized plan.
Because no two people are the same, your nutrition and healthcare needs will also differ. This is why I offer many services to cater to YOU!
